Velma Rembert Martin was born in Shellman, GA on October 21, 1952 she was number five of nine siblings born to the late Henry L. and Freddie Mae Flowers. She was preceded in death by her late husband Bobby Charles Rembert Sr. and her son Bobby Charles Rembert Jr. also her brothers Henry Lee Flower, George Flowers and sister Laura Bell Turner. At an early age Mom joined Union Hill Baptist Church in Shellman, GA. then later moved her membership to Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Cuthbert, GA where she a good and faithful servant. Mom during her short but fulfilled life wore may hats she was long time member of several organizations including : The Starlight Social Club, The Red Hatters Club of Cuthbert, Retired educators association of Randolph County, The Democratic Party Committee, Friendship Chapter #137 and Zeta Amicae. Mom was also the founder and coordinator of the Cuthbert Cruisers who have been sailing since 1985. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Willie Martin of Albany, GA, one daughter Tanga (Rodney) Spann of Dallas, GA, two brothers Willie Ed Flowers of Cuthbert, Walter Flowers (Deborah) of Shellman, Three sisters Annie Dorris Flowers of Elizabeth, NJ, Carrie Mae Jackson and Mary Lee Flowers of Cocoa, FL, Three grandchildren Kya, Rodney Jr., Riyan Spann. A host of nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephews and friends.
