Valarie LaPam Vaughn Walton was granted her peace on Tuesday, September 29, 2020; no more pain, no more sorrow. “Pam,” as she was lovingly called, was the seventh child born to Lonnie Vaughn and Josephine Vaughn Shingles in Cuthbert, Georgia. Both preceded her in death. She was baptized at an early age at Big Bethel Free Will Baptist Church where she remained a member her entire life singing in the choir. She matriculated at Randolph County High School graduating in the class of 1982. In high school she was outstanding in basketball and softball. After high school she worked in various capacities ending at Hummingbird in Eufaula, Alabama until her health failed. Pam enjoyed fishing, drawing, and cutting hair; she had even learned to crochet while she was ill. Pam loved life and she lived life to its fullest; she loved to dance and she was in her zone on the dance floor. There was never a dull moment when she was present. She was married to Willie B. Walton. She was the proud mother of three children, one girl and two boys. She was preceded in death by two of her brothers - Lonnie Allen Vaughn, III and William Michael Vaughn and one sister – Eva M. Gibson. Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Myrika (Donald) Aikens and Rachael Thomas both of Atlanta, GA; and two sons - Willie Walton, Atlanta, GA; and Jarrus Walton, Cuthbert, GA; four sisters – Mary V. (Eddie) Johnson, Savannah, GA; Shirley V. (Willie) Starling - Omaha, NE; Deliphine V. Vines, Cuthbert, GA; Grace General, Columbus, GA; two brothers – Wallace (Teresa) Vaughn, Cuthbert, GA and Tracy (Ann) General – Clearwater, FL; eight grandchildren – Tyrika Vaughn, De’Asia Aikens, Johnathan Aikens, Aaliya Aikens, Rachelle Walton (Fancy), Willie L Walton, Jr. (June), Tanaisha Jones, (Red), Talaysha Jones (Lil Bit); one great-grand child - Malaya (Smokie); two aunts – Lottie Merritt-Lewis, Eva J.
