Mrs. Rosa Lee Daniels-Preston was born on November 15, 1932 to the late Mr. Savannah Daniels and Vanessie Murray-Daniels in Carnegie, Georgia. Mrs. Preston joined Mitchell Grove Baptist Church at an early age where she later became “The Mother of the Church.” She was a homemaker and cooked for many residents of Randolph County for most of her adult life. Besides her delicious meals, she was best known for her cakes, pies, and gardens. Mrs. Preston was a resident of Hooks Plantation for over 20 years. The late Mrs. Preston made her peaceful transition on October 5, 2018 at Jo-Ann Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert, Georgia.She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Luther B. Preston of Coleman, GA: her parents, Mr. Savannah Daniels of Carnegie, GA and Mrs. Vanessie Murray-Daniels-Jackson of Orlando, FL: 2 sons: Joe Louis Preston & Roosevelt Preston (Leto) of Orlando, FL; 5 sisters: Parrie Lee Hunter (Horace), Tiny Emanuel (Israel) both of Orlando, FL; Savannah Clayton of Eatonville, FL; Mae Della & Leila Mae Daniels of Carnegie, GA; 1 stepbrother, Eddie Jackson of Orlando, FL; 3 brothers-in-law: O.C. Bell of Oviedo, FL, Horace Hunter, and Israel Emanuel of Orlando, FL; 2 sons-in-law: Charles O’Neal of Apopka, FL and Johnny Slaughter of Jacksonville, FL; 3 daughters-in-law: Leto Preston, Jeanette Preston, and Sherry Ann Preston all of Orlando, FL, and 1 great-grandchild, Masai Shakoor, of Atlanta, GA.Mrs. Preston leaves her cherished memories to her sister Mattie Bell, 1 brother-in-law Bange Clayton, 4 daughters: Ellen Wheeler (George) of Cuthbert, GA; Helen Preston of Apopka, FL; Bobbie Slaughter of Jacksonville, FL; Rosie Preston of Cuthbert, GA; 4 sons: Robert Preston (Martha) and Larry Preston of Orlando, FL, Horace Preston (Mary) of Edison, GA, Tonney Preston (Mattie) of Gotha, FL; 1 stepson: Henry Preston of Ft. Gaines, GA; 2 daughters in love Ramona Smith of Orlando, FL and Peggy Pinkins of Cuthbert, GA, a very close cousin, Gertrude Nunnally, 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her fellow church members of Mitchell Grove Baptist whom she loved dearly.
