Richard Duane Johnson was born January 20, 1969 in Cuthbert, Georgia to Sammie and Emma Louise Johnson. He passed away Monday, February 27, 2023. Richard attended school in Randolph County and graduated from Randolph-Clay High School in 1987, afterwards served in the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged. He was later employed at the Day Company for a number of years. He was a member of Benevolence Missionary Baptist Church and confessed his belief and trust in Jesus Christ. Richard enjoyed watching football, basketball and WWE professional wrestling. He was a gentle soul who enjoyed the company of all his family. He also enjoyed his nieces and nephews whether it was watching TV with them, teaching them to ride a bike or playing with them in the yard. Richard had a big sweet tooth. He enjoyed eating Jelly Bellies, Hot Tamales, Oreos, Red Velvet Cake and his favorite treat was Chocolate Ice Cream. Richard enjoyed listening to different types of music. He also stayed on top of world-wide current events. Richard’s father, Sammie Johnson and niece, Tiara Johnson preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Emma Louise Johnson; four brothers and four sisters, Calvin L. (Cindy) Johnson of Corona, NY, Sammie Johnson Jr of Augusta, GA, Cynthia D. Johnson and Karen A. Ash of Atlanta, GA, Harail (Joan) Johnson of Raleigh, NC, Wanda L. Brown of Jacksonville, FL, Dexter L. (Marilyn) Johnson of Riverview, FL and Lisa R. (Julian) Baker of Baldwin, NY; one aunt, Willie D. Cartwright of Orlando, FL; one uncle, Jay L. Lee of Palestine, TX; one special aunt, Catherine Lee Johnson of Cuthbert, GA.
