Ms. Lillian Slaughter was born on November 26, 1927 in Quitman County, Georgetown, Georgia to the late Andrew Slaughter and Rosa Smith Slaughter. She departed this life on March 9, 2021 at the age of 93 at Joe-Anne Burgin Health and Rehabilitation in Cuthbert, Georgia. She confessed Christ at an early age. After moving to Randolph County, she joined Zion Rock A.M.E. Church (Zion Rock Baptist Church). There she served as a born again Christian and a faithful member by serving on many auxiliaries; mother of the church, church secretary, finance secretary, usher board and presi-dent of the choir. She further let her light shined throughout the community as a very caring and loving individual, who had a heart for others. She retired from Kellwood MFG and retired as a school bus (no. 5) driver with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed garden-ing, cooking and loved the outdoors. Moreover, her grandest joy of all was singing her favorite songs, such as: Just Like Fire Shut Up In My Bones; Jesus, Jesus, I Got Him On My Mind; Jesus Made a Way; Oh, Lord I Want You To Help Me; and On My Way Home. She was preceded in death by her sone Jackie Slaughter; two (2) sisters and five (5) brothers. She is survived by two (2) daughters: Mrs. Barbara (Frank) Moore of Stockbridge, GA, Mrs. Karen (James) Miller of Edison, GA; one (1) son Mr. Gary Slaughter of Korea; one (1) sister Mrs. Lee Ethel Tillman of Cuthbert, GA; four (4) grandchildren: Aundra, Derrick, Darius, Victoria; seven (7) great grandchildren and one (1) great-great grandson; seven (7) step grandchildren; James II and Devonte’ Miller, Tiffany Mitchell, Anthony, Ste-phen, Brandon and Nakieah Moore; a number of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
