Ms. Florine Simmons of Cuthbert, Georgia, was born on October 22, 1929; she departed this earthly home for her heavenly home on January 26, 2021 at the Four County Health and Rehabilitation in Richland, Georgia. Florine was the third child of eight, born to the late Foy Simmons and the late Carrie Sales Simmons. Florine was born in Cuthbert, Georgia, where she attended Randolph Schools. After Florine’s schooling, she worked at Hobbs Cleaners for several years. She later moved to Florida and from Florida Florine moved to Easton, Pennsylvania, where she was employed for many years at Almagated Cotton Garment and Allied Industries until retirement. Upon retirement, Florine relocated back home to Cuthbert, Georgia, to care for her ailing mother. Ms. Simmons accepted Christ at an early age at Roxey Chapel AME Church, where she attended Sunday School. She later be-came a member of Payne Chapel AME Church, Cuthbert, Georgia. Ms. Simmons didn’t have children but she was precious to her many nieces and nephews who called her “Flo and Sweety” Ms. Simmons leaves to cherish her memory four brothers, Floyd L. Simmons of Atlanta, GA, Fletcher W. Simmons (Beatrice) of Cuthbert, GA, Judge Simmons of Delaware and David Simmons (Marie) of Alpin, FL; many nieces, nephews and friends in Cuthbert, GA and Easton, PA. Florine was predeceased by her parents, Mr. Foy Simmons and Carrie Sales Simmons; two sisters Eugenia Simmons Williams, Loretta Simmons Carter; two sisters-in-law, Louise “Queen” Simmons and Ruthie Simmons; one brother John-ny Simmons and two brothers-in-law Willie Stanley Carter and Freddy Williams, several nieces and nephews
