Larry Wilson

Mr. Larry Don Wilson was born January 2, 1957 in Cuthbert, Georgia. He was the fifth child born to the late Willie Sim and Susie Wilson. He attended Randolph County School System. 

At a very young age, he joined Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church and served faithfully as an Usher for many years. 

Larry was a hard working man, that worked until his health declined. The City of Cuthbert, Day’s Plywood Company, Parker Security, and Piggly Wiggly were some of the places Larry worked. Driving for the late Rev. Henry Hogan, Jr. was his favorite job of all.

 On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend answered the Master’s call and gained his wings in paradise. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Virginia Clark and Robert Hightower; one grandson, Davion Johnson. 

Larry’s precious memories will forever remain in everyone’s hearts. Larry is survived by a wife, Barbara Wilson of Shellman, GA; three daughters, Jacqueline Wilson, Shreta (Kim) Wilson, both of Albany, GA, Regina (Major) Redding of Shellman, GA; five brothers, Willie James (Barbara) Wilson, Solomon Wilson, Samuel Wilson, all of Cuthbert, GA, and Leon (Cara) Wilson of Winter Haven, FL; five grandchildren, Quantavius Johnson of Albany, GA, Jasmine Wilson of Tennessee, JaQuivious Wilson of New Jersey, SGT. Ramara Johnson of Ft. Stewart, GA, and Andrea Redding of Shellman, GA; three great grandchildren, Quantavius Jr, Keiran Johnson, Kali Johnson, all of Albany, GA, Nalani Wilson of New Jersey; special niece, Ashley Wilson of Albany, GA; five brothers-inlaw, Thomas (Jean) Marshall of Cuthbert, GA, Eddie Marshall of Albany, GA, Richard Marshall, William (Renay) Marshall, Samuel (Charlotte) Marshall, all of Shellman, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also a special friend, Jeanette Tolbert.
