Johnny B Mays

Mr. Johnny B. Mays Sr. was born on July 30, 1956 in Shellman, GA to the late Arile Mays and Mabel Frances Martin. He departed this life on May 14, 2021 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA. At an early age, Johnny gave his life to Christ and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He later became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon. He graduated from Randolph County Comprehensive High School in 1975 and married his high school sweetheart Brenda Jones in 1977. His siblings that preceded him in death are Gladys Rice (Eddie), Mary Alice Neal (George), Annie Grace Wims(Marvin), William Yarbrough (Thelma), Mary Martin, Christine Martin, Otis Martin, Frank Martin, Lucille Martin, Ethel King, Johnny is survived by his wife, Brenda Mays; his daughters Ailysha Boatwright (Ronald), Anetra Mays and Jenet Harvey; his sons Richard Morris (Labreka) and Johnny B. Mays II (Ariel); his siblings Annie Kate Rembert, Arelius “Catfish” Mayes (Bernadine), Carolyn Maye, Joan Gilbert (Eddie), Elijah Yarbrough, Rosie Palmer, Lessie Martin and Betty Jean Martin; his grandchildren Aisya Boatwright, Ayiana Boatwright, Ronald Boatwright III, Lakisja Morris, Richard Morris, Zayvion Morris, Jaheim Hosley, Kailan Hosley, Tristan Gilbert and Jhourni Mays and a host of brothers in -law, sisters in -law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
