Mr. James Edwards was born April 26, 1946 to the late Will Edwards and Lucia Cross (Edwards) in Schley County, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County. James was a quiet, gentle soul. He was caring and dependable, and well-loved by all who knew him. He loved his family and friends. He professed belief in a living Christ and was a member of Benevolence Missionary Baptist Church, Benevolence, Georgia.
James Edwards was reared in a family of thirteen children, five of his siblings preceded him in death which included, Nellie Swan, Will Edwards, Jr., Samuel Edwards, Robert Lee Edwards, Jimmie Lee Edwards.
He was married to Evelyn White Edwards, who has preceded him in death. To this union, he was blessed with five children: Jermaine White, Atlanta, Georgia, Jamell Edwards Thomas, Marrietta, Georgia, Donna Bonner, Detroit, Michigan, Derryl White, Atlanta, Georgia and Aldeman Walters, Fort Worth, Texas. In April 2005 he married Janie Mae Bland. They lived a happy life as one.
On Monday, October 7, 2024, the angel of death swiftly moved and released our beloved James Edwards from his pain and called him to rest.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Janie Mae Edwards, Cuthbert, Georgia and his ten devoted and loving children: Jermaine White, Atlanta, Georgia, Jamell Edwards Thomas, Marrietta, Georgia, Donna Bonner, Detroit, Michigan, Derryl White, Atlanta, Georgia, Aldeman Walters, Fort Worth, Texas, Eric Burks, Cuthbert, GA, Tiffany Bland, Fort Valley, Georgia, Ty,Quisha Green, Columbus Georgia, Tamia Hardy Edwards, Greenville, South Carolina and TyDarius Green, Cuthbert, Georgia; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; seven loving siblings, five sister and two brothers: Hattie (Joseph) Taylor, Orlando, Florida, Emma (Robert) Berner, Orlando, Florida, Evelyn Allen, Cuthbert, Georgia, Mary Ann Cannon, Cuthbert, Georgia, Doris L. Edwards, Cuthbert, Georgia, GW Edwards, Cuthbert, Georgia and Freddie Lee Edwards, Cuthbert, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
