George Elder Lawson

George Elder Lawson, Jr. was born in Lumpkin, GA on July 7, 1955 to the late George and Mary Lawson. At an early age he joined Benevolence Missionary Baptist Church. After graduating from Stewart County High School, he served seven years in the United States Army and upon discharge worked various jobs in and around the Randolph County area, primarily in landscaping. George departed this life at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA on Thursday April 12, 2018, only to enter a much better place.George was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Lawson, his brother Dock and sister Eula. Cherishing his memory are three brothers, Willie Fred Lawson (Patricia), Miami Gardens, FL; Jerry Lawson, Benevolence, GA; William Sandy Lawson, San Tan Valley, Arizona; Charlie Curtis Lawson (Telysa), Smyrna, GA; three sisters, Tina Stephens, Suffolk, Virginia; Elva Lawson, Benevolence, GA; Peggy Key (John), McDonough, GA; a sister-in-law, Annette Lawson, Scotch Plains, NJ; on uncle, Johnnie B. Williams, Weston, GA and a host of nieces, nephews,relatives and friends.
