Ester Johnson

Ms. Ester B. Johnson "Bea" was bom January 27, 1939 in Caregie, GA to the late Earl "Doc" Johnson and the late Lula (Stroy) Johnson. It is here where she grew up. ultimately graduating from Randolph County Training School in Cuthbert GA in 1957.

Once she became an adult the adventurer in her emerged. Bea lived in several cities throughout her life including, Jacksonville, Fl, New York City, NY, Atlanta GA, Chester (Richmond) VA, and Georgetown (Austin) TX. Most of her work life involved being a caregiver, she retired from being a home health provider in the mid 1990's. After retiring she continued her caregiver role as a foster parent, followed by caring for her grandchildren.

Deep in her heart she was an adventurer, so whenever we said do you want to go..... She said yes! She traveled the country, visited places she always wanted to see. She took cruises and cross-country trips in a RV. She was a dancer (especially the Electric slide) and love good old Gospel and R&B music. When she was at home she loved to watch old sitcoms and "Family Feud". But most of all SHE LOVED HER CHILDREN! And WE LOVED HER!

She was proceeded in death by her Big Brother, Lester L. Johnson "Bubba", Bay sister Betty Jean Johnson "Bett", a sister- in-spirit Naomi Louis, and 2 grandsons Gerald Randle Jr and Andrew Dewayne Randle.

"Bea" gained her wings on April 1, 2025. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, her son Melvin L. Johnson SR (Jacqueline), her daughter Ulanda E. Lawson (Mark), her sister and best friend Lula Mae Brown, Her grandchildren Melvin L. Johnson Jr, Kacie Marie Salmon (Omar), Demetri Ray, Eric Quinn (Tukisha), Latasha Quinn, Robert Randle, her great-great grandchildren, her bonus children James Burgess (Jacquelyn), Earl Burgess (Cheri), Michelle Burgess, Marina Silva, her nephews, nieces, and a host family and friends.
