Dr. Johnnie Ervin Mincy was born on Sept. 212, 1953 in Leesburg, Florida to the late Theadore R. Mincy and Matilda Mincy. He departed this life on January 6, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, Georgia. At an early age, Johnnie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was a member of Mount Olive ND Church in Shellman, Georgia. Dr. Mincy was highly educated, receiving his Doctorate Degree. He also enlisted in the United States Army on March 20, 1975 and retired as SFC/E7 on July 31, 1992. On May 4, 1988, Johnnie and Ella Stewart were joined in holy matrimony. Being a retired military husband and father, life was enjoyed by spending time with family, cooking, bowling, and shooting pool. In addition to his parents, Theadore and Matilda Mincy, he was predeceased by his siblings, Sallie Williams and Theadore Mincy, Jr. Johnnie is survived by his loving wife, Ella Stewart Mincy; two daughters, Kenya Alexander of Jacksonville, FL and Charisee (Randy) Raeford of Raleigh, NC; six sons, Johnnie Brunson of Orlando, FL, Derrick Vaughn of Atlanta, GA, John C. Mincy of Columbia, SC, Andrew D. Robinson of Tuscaloosa, AL, Reginal T. Stewart of Rex, GA, Andre’ L. Stewart of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Theodora M. Godfrey, Carolyn M. Lee, and Juanita M. Smalley, all of Leesburg, FL; one brother, Robert McCray of Leesburg, FL; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
