Dossie Mae Burkes

August 17, 1941 — October 12, 2024

Cuthbert

On a blessed and beautiful day, August 17, 1941, God placed a flower in His earthly garden to grow. This flower was given to the late Ellis & Lizzie Rebecca Florida of Shellman, Georgia, and was lovingly given the name of Dossie Mae. She was the last child of twelve children. On October 12, 2024 God picked His beautiful flower and carried her home.

She dedicated her life in a true confession to her Lord and Savior at an early age. The work that she did for the Lord was joy for her everyday life. She served as the mother of the church, and president of the choir. Mother Burkes was dedicated to her Church, her Pastor and First Lady.

Preceding her in death were eleven siblings, her parents and one daughter, Patricia Rembert.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Her devoted son, Kareem Rembert; one grandchild, Tiaya; one sister-inlaw, Luevinnie Florida of Dawson, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, God children and friends.
