Debbie Jo Culbreth was born on February 11, 1957, in Cuthbert, Georgia, to Sylvester J Gilbert and Lucille Waldon. Debbie accepted Christ early in life. She answered the master’s call on Thursday morning, November 15, 2018. Debbie joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Ricky Culbreth on November 27, 1976 and to this union God blessed them with two handsome sons, Eric “Boo-Man” Gilbert and Midarrious Culbreth. Debbie was a faithful and dedicated employee. She was employed with Southwest Regional Hospital for twenty-two years and with Andrew College Dining for seven years before her health failed. Debbie was a hardworking, loyal figure of strength who never fell short in her support or love of her family, and who soldiered on, even when times were tough. She was funny, boy was she funny, even in her final days. She never lost her sense of humor. Debbie never complained, nor did she ever turn anyone away. She was a mother to us all. She was our rock. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Sylvester J Gilbert and Ms. Lucille Waldon; her handsome son Eric “Boo-Man” Gilbert; and two sisters Wendy “Tammy” Gilbert-Farwell and Vanessa “Molly” Lee. She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving devoted husband, Ricky Culbreth and son Midarrious Culbreth of Cuthbert, GA., One brother, Ronnie Waldon of Cuthbert, GA; Seven sisters, Thelma Waldon-Hunter of Cincinnati, OH, Barbara Gilbert of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Jones of Columbus, GA, Linda Brookins, Betty Waldon, Peggy Gilbert all of Cuthbert, GA and Terri Devorse of Eufaula, AL. Twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins friends as well as a special daughter/caregiver, Kameshia Paramore.
