Mr. Brookins was born February 7, 1930 to the late John and Georgia Brookins in Cuthbert, GA. Bragg departed his earthly life in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on March 21, 2017.Daddy, as he was affectionately called, loved life, had a big heart, and shared it with everyone he knew. He met no strangers, he love and would help anyone. He would offer his home if that’s what they needed. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather,brother, uncle and cousin. Daddy joined Virgil Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Cuthbert, GA at an early age. A man of many talents and titles. He was preceded in death by five children: Willie James Brookins, Willie Junior Brookins, Eddie B Brookins, Charlie B Brookins, and Annie D Coleman (John W Coleman); three sisters: Maybelle Slaughter, Hattie Toney, and Lottie Barlow; three brothers: James Brookins, Johnny Brookins, and Soloman Brookins.He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 63 years Lizzie Brookins. To this union 13 children were born Georgia Brookins (Eddie James), Bragg Brookins, Jr. (Stephanie), Brenda Grooms (Alexander), Garynell Glover (Ernest), Dextrell Brookins , Lextrell Brookins, Eddie Brookins, John Brookins, all of Cuthbert, GA. One other son Tracy Jamaes of Dorchester, MA. Two sisters; Lorraine Toney of Miami, FL and Mary Butler of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Fifty grandchildren, one hundred twenty one great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
