Mary Jackson

August 1, 1914 — November 30, 2016

Mrs. Mary Ellen Jackson (“Ms. Mary”) was born August 1, 1914 in Headland, Alabama. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Clarence Jackson. This union was blessed with one child, Gloria Ann. Mr. Jackson preceded her in death on March 6,1999. Mrs. Jackson was active in the Cuthbert community and loved working with children, working in her garden, and fishing in her favorite spots around the local area with her good friend and next door neighbor Mrs. Mildred Gadson and traveling with her Daughter and Son-in-Law. She would talk the whole trip. There was never a dull moment with “Ms. Mary”. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. She always told you what was on her mind. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the life of her child: Mrs. Gloria (Alfred) Baker of Stone Mountain, Ga, grandchildren: Sharrelle and Alfred Baker, II of Stone Mountain, Ga; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
