For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:6-8 Mrs. Mamie Berry was born July 10, 1921 to the late Mrs. Ella Thompson and Mr. Wade Thompson. Mamie departed this life on October 30, 2016. Mamie was married to John Berry. They lived in Richland, GA for several years, and then they chose to reside in Cuthbert, GA. She was a faithful member of Roxie Chapel A.M.E. Church until it closed. After the closing, she then became a member of Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church in Cuthbert, GA. She was a faithful member and served on the Missionary Board until her health failed. She did many jobs within the community; one consisted of being a devoted caretaker for the neighborhood children, and they loved her dearly. Her husband, her parents, a brother, and a niece preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories three children: Ms. Ella Thompson, Mrs. Eva Mae Hughes both of Cuthbert, GA, and Mr. Chuck (Andrea) Berry of Brussels, Belgium.
