Nelson Glenn

December 30, 1940 — July 27, 2016

Nelson Glenn was born December 30, 1940 in Randolph County, Georgia to the late Annie Mae and Archie James Lee Glenn. Nelson peacefully departed is earthly home on July 27, 2016. At an early age he became a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the pastoral ship of George W. Jackson.  Nelson enjoyed spending time and talking with his 8 children. He was educated in the Randolph County School System. After graduation, he then moved to Chicago, Illinois were he began his career has a Bus Driver for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). After 32 years of service with CTA he retired and returned to his home roots of Cuthbert, GA.  After retirement, Nelson could not just sit on the front porch in a rocking chair drinking sweet tea, so he returned back to work, driving the School Bus for the Randolph County School System.  After many years of servicing his community, he retired again but this time relaxing and enjoying is retirement.  The wisdom of Nelson Glenn’s life will carry on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brother. Left to cherish his loving memories are:  his brother Ceasar Glenn of Albany, Georgia; Five Fabulous daughters, Patricia Edey (St. Clair Donaldson) of Bamberg, South Carolina; Adriene Hudson; Amanda Hudson and Alicia Glenn all of Birmingham, Alabama; and Shirley Glenn of Chicago City, Illinois; Three Tremendous sons, Timothy Glenn of Dover, Delaware; Anthony Glenn Hudson (Valencia) of Tiptonville, Tennessee and Nelson Glenn Jr. of Vaiden, Mississippi. Additionally, he leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and Friends.
