Brenda Jene Gilford was born to the late Margaret Blount and the late Robert Gilford Sr. in Carnegie, Georgia on October 1, 1955. Her grandmother Annie Bell Cox raised her. She received her education in the Randolph County School System, and was a graduate of Randolph County Comprehensive High School class of 1974. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and joined Mt. Cilla AME Church (Mt. Cilla Non-Denomination). She was employed by New Horizons Community Service Board until her health declined. On Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Brenda stepped out of this earthly life and into eternal life when God called her home to rest. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Terry) Blount, her father, Robert (Annie Nora) Gilford, her grandmother, Annie Bell (Rufus) Cox, and two brothers, Melvin Murphy and Felton Blount. Precious memories will forever be cherished by her daughter, Christa (Keaymonda) Hollis of Leesburg, GA; her son Charles E. Hall Jr. A Goddaughter, Ricketta (Lacy) McCoy both of Albany GA. Five grandchildren plus twins on the way. Five sisters: Velma Goeth and Sheil-Ann Gilford, both of Valdosta, GA; Althea (Ullyessess) Milton of West Palm Beach, FL, Melanie (Reginald) Garrett of Jonesboro, GA and Faleshia James of Morrow, GA. Six brothers: Robert (Carolyn) Gilford Jr. of Fort Mitchell, AL; Wille Gilford aka Poonie of College Park, GA; Calvin Blount and Earnest Blount, both of Atlanta, GA; Eferm Blount (Angela) of College Park, GA and Felix (Sherry) Blount of Lawrenceville, GA. An aunt raised as her sister, Mary Alice McGraw (Willie). Two uncles raised as her brothers: Radie (Shirley) Murphy and Horace (Aljosie) Murphy. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives, and friends. A special cousin TeNesha McGraw.
