Brother Solomon Brookins was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was born March 2, 1936 in Cuthbert, Randolph County, Georgia to the late John and Georgia Brookins. He was affectionately called King Solomon by those who knew him. He attended Randolph County schools. Later, he met and married Wonnie Brookins and to this union two children were born: Linda and Malcolm. He was baptized at Virgil Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Cuthbert at an early age and received Christ as his personal Savior. Solomon lived and embraced life to the fullest. He lived in Cuthbert for many years, from their to Springfield, Massachusetts, then Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his family. Solomon was a very hard working, energetic, and optimistic man. He was always willing to help others. He had an unusual sense of humor, which made everyone laugh or smile. Two sisters, Maybelle Slaughter and Hattie Toney; two brothers: James Brookins and Johnny Brookins, and a son, Solomon Burnette proceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: a wife, Wonnie Brookins (Cuthbert, GA); a daughter, Linda Brookins; two sons: Malcolm Brookins and Marty James, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three sisters: Lottie Barlow, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lorraine Toney, Miami, FL, and Mary Butler, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one brother: Bragg Brookins (Lizzie), Cuthbert, GA; four grandchildren: Terrence Ewell II, Malcolm Brookins II, Myesha Brookins, and Markell Brookins; one great granddaughter: Terace Ewell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, god children, and several special friends: Annibal Brookins, Robert James, Terrance Ewell (Terry), Betty Burnette, Terralyn Gore, and Willie Mae Grant.—
