Burks was born May 4, 1938 in Benevolence, GA to the late Eddie and Annie Lee Gibson.She left this earth en-route to her heavenly home on July 13, 2015 at southwest Regional Hospital in Cuthbert, GAOn June 9, 1956 Annie L. Gibson became the lovely wife of the late Eddie (Phil) Burks. This union produced 52 years of wonderful memories.She devoted her life as a wife, raising her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and local children in the community. She worked as an outreach worker for the Enrichment Outreach Program of Columbus, GA at the Neighborhood Service Center in Cuthbert, Ga she assisted children under the age of 3 with story hour. She held classes for the elderly in assisting them with sewing, quilting, their basic needs such as shopping and she enjoyed working in her flower garden daily.She was preceded in death by one son, James (Diane) Warren of Miami, FL.She leaves to cherish her memories: her three daughters, Mary Starling and Gladys Burks of Benevolence, GA and Verda Burks of Oklahoma City, OK: two sisters, Beulah (Jessie) Deloney and Ella (Leonard) Jenkins of Benevolence, GA: two brothers, Eddie (Eva) Gipson, Jr. and Isiah (Cynthia) Gibson of Cuthbert ,GA: five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
