Funeral ServicesFriday April 17, 20151:00 pm From the Sanctuary ofChristian Life Church38 Highway 82 WestEufaula, AL 36027 Eulogist Pastor Ken JacksonInternment: Eastview Cemetery Cuthbert,GA.   Cassandra Elaine Thornton fondly know to all as “Sandy” or San made her arrival on August 26, 1961 to Barbara Wiley and was reared by both Barbara & Essie Wiley in Chicago Il, Sandy departed this life on Friday April 10 2015, she was proceeded in death by her dad Essie Wiley, her grandparents Hubert & Rosa Belle Thornton, her Aunt Patricia Harris, and Uncle Hubert Thornton Jr.Sandy attended school in East Chicago Heights, Il school district 169 and later graduated from Bloom Trail High School in 1978, after graduation she attended Illinois State University Normal, Il studying Business Management.Sandy accepted Christ at a early age and attended several ministries within the Chicago Heights area and later moved her membership to PCC in Ford Heights, Il(formerly Church of Christ for all Nations) where Bishop Gregory & Pastor Robin Dillard are founder/Pastors, until she relocated to Georgia where she became a member of Christian Life Church in Cuthbert, GA. Sandy nurtured and mothered all who were in need and was a blessing to all who knew her. She served in the Village of Ford Heights(formerly known as East Chicago Heights) community for over 17 years within CEDA and Municipal duties. After relocating to Georgia she became employed with AIMCO as a property manager where she remained until her journey home.Sandy leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother Barbara Wiley, biological father Charlie Hart, three sons, Kenyon (Tandraca) Denver, CO., Deyvon(E’Lisa) Joliet, Il., and DeArmond of Cuthbert, Ga, four daughters, Dekenya Mitchell(Jeffery) Norcross, GA., Deyshaundra of Norcross, GA., Nikira, JaMia(Stanley Dean) of Eufaula, AL., six brothers Clarence (Mary) of Crete, Il, Wayne (Renee) Jackson, MS., Eric (Valerie) Chicago, IL., Antonio(Angella) Hammond, IN., Dion of Ford Hts. Il, Brian of Denver, CO., five sisters Essie Mae of Jackson, MS, Mia Lee(Winford) Norcross, Ga., Bianca Sweeten(Ronald) Colorado Springs, CO, and Tineka Wiley of Riverdale, GA., 10 half brothers & sisters, fourteen grandchildren whom she cherished, A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, god children, and friends. She also had individuals who held a special place in her life, Walter Thornton, Bettye Jones, Jimmie Johnson, Sabah Farid, Latonia McQuitter, Gloria Fletcher,The Vaughn Family, The Rogers Family, Bishop & Pastor Dillard and the PCC church family, and a host of other who added richness to her life.
