Julian Holder, OfficiatingSammie Lee Hopkins was born to the late Ben Hopkins and Willie Mae Martin Hopkims on August 20, 1937 in Randolph Co.He departed this life on March 21, 2015 at his home, 32 Dairy Rd , Cuthbert, GA. Sammie accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.Sammie Hopkins was a kind, caring, hard-working and easy going man, and he was well known.He attended Mt. Calvary School in Shellman GA. After his education he worked as a framer and mechanic for many years.He is preceded in death by three brothers: Willie B. Hopkins, Alton Hopkins, Sr; and J. T. Hopkins; two sisters Ruby L. Hopkins and Josephine Hopkins Williams.He leaves to cherish his memories four loving daughters and one son, Janice(Dennis) Walton, Sr., Ola (Izell) Mills, Kim Jerome) Richardson, all of Cuthbert, GA, and Belinda Currington of West Palm Beach, FL, and Victor Hopkins of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, L.W. Hopkins and Raymond Hopkins, both of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Elise Hopkins of Birmingham, AL, Betty Hopkins of Chicago,IL, and Dorthy Hopkins of Atlanta, GA; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.
