Charles Gibson affectingly known as “Gip” was born June 14, 1953 to the parentage of the late Annie B. Gipson and Charlie Will Gipson. Over 40 years ago, Charles accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and served as a member of the Church of Christ unto his death. He was a graduate of Stewart County school system. He received training from South GA Tech where he started his career in Diesel Mechanics which lead to his life time love of Commercial Driving. Charles was self-employed with his own company, Gibson Trucking, where he was owner and operator as a licensed Commercial Driver with haze mat certification. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Gibson; his grandparents Joseph (Viola) Myers; One sister, Maxine Gibson-Smith and; an aunt, Ozzie Walton; two nieces, Shanika Jones and Keywana Robinson; and a nephew Darius Gibson and one Sister-in-Law Doris Gibson. He leaves to cherish his memory, six children, Ceretta Sheppard of Atlanta Ga, Mayor Charles (Amber) Gibson of Lumpkin GA, Douglass (Elizabeth) Gibson of Americus GA, Shonya Engram of Cuthbert GA, Shannon (Taiwo) Adeeko of Tennessee, and Cornelius Gibson of Albany Ga. Twelve grandchildren: Ajanae Goodman, Gamberdecia Gibson, Chaotic Passion Gibson, Quentyn Gibson, Genesis Gibson, Charles Gibson Jr, Deontre Gibson, Kadeejah Gibson, Nikeria Gibson, Keason Gibson, Kelshia Engram, Cameron Engram; seven sisters: Clemmie (Marcellus) McCluster of Apoka, FL, Marilynn Gibson of Brooklyn, NY, Shirley Gibson, Dianne Jones,Dorothea (Floyd) Burks, Cynthia Robinson all of Cuthbert, GA, Priscilla (Wilson) Tolbert of Dawson, GA, Ruby Polite of Phenix City AL, three brothers: John Robert Gibson, Sr., Melvin (Carmen) Gibson both of Cuthbert, GA, Darnell (Sonya) Gibson of Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins & friends.
