At an early age he became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, continuing his membership throughout adulthood.As a child, Gerald was a unique individual and it was recognized even then that he would somehow contribute greatly to his community. Gerald graduated from Randolph County Comprehensive High School in 1978 and immediately upon graduation he enlisted into the United States Army, serving honorably. His first assignment was to Company B Battalion Academy Brigade, Second Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam, Houston, Texas and his first job was operating room technician.Officer Daniels was a lifelong Law Enforcement Officer, currently employed as Captain of the Andrew College Police Department and as a Deputy Sheriff with the Randolph County Sheriff''s Department. Throughout his tenure, Officer Daniels worked for the following agencies: Albany Police Department, MARTA Police Department in Atlanta, Georgia State Patrol, Doughterty County Sheriff's Department, Doughterty County School System, Cuthbert Police Department, Lumpkin Police Department, Randolph County Fire Department and Randolpoh County EMT. Officer Daniels has committed his entire life to the safety of the community in which he lived and is known as an upstanding officer throughout the State of Georgia. Gerald fathered four children, Eric Daniels, twin girls, Myeshia and Tyeshia Perry and Kniyah Watson. His son, Eric, a fellow soldier, and his brother Carl Hart preceded him in death. Although he leaves the place he called home, he will forever remain in the hearts of his daughters, Myeshia, Tyeshia, Kniyah, two grandchildren, Bryce Daniels and Eternity Perry; siblings, Alfred Daniels, Decatur, GA, Regina Daniels, Boston, MA, Gloria (Alfred) Baker, Stone Mountain, GA, one uncle, Earnest Daniels, Pittsburg, PA, one aunt, Mary Louise Daniels, Albany, GA; god-sisters and brothers, Roberty Murphy, Charlie Murphy, Jr., Lucile Peterson, Linda Bingham, Wilma Taylor, Felton Murphy, Larry Murphy, Audrey Murphy, Marycle Pitts, Trina Sherman and LaShon Perry; two devoted cousins, Daphne Daniels and DeRushiel Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and fellow officers.
