Deacon Henry Clay Walton was born March 13, 1936 to the late Major and Elnora Walton in Randolph County, Georgia. Henry passed away at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home on August 10, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his sister, Emma Jean.As a young man, he attended Randolph County School System. At an early age he joined Old Field Macedonia Church in Dawson, Georgia, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon board. Henry worked as a welder at Peerless Manufacture in Shellman, Georgia for nearly 33 years. He also served as a Past Master at the St. Thomas Lodge #70 in Cuthbert, Georgia.Survivors included his wife, Belauh Walton of Shellman, Georgia; five children, Dorothea (Floyd) Burks, Cynthia (Theotis) Coleman all of Cuthbert, Georgia; Sharon Burnette-Powell of Augusta, GA, Mary White (Anthony) Peters of Albany, Georgia and Willie Mitchner of Palm Bay, Florida; four sisters, Mary (Jimmy) Gibbs of Folkston, Georgia, Velma Wright of Lumpkin, Georiga, Marjorie Wilson of Columbus, Georgia and Mary Lee Wright of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, William (Deanne) Walton of Pensacola, Florida and Willie Charles Walton of Douglasville, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Annie Louise Burks, Johnney (Annie Doris) Burks, Roy (Martha) Burks, James (Janie) Edwards, Lucious (Lillie) Marcus all of Benevolence, Georgia, Tom (Carolyn) Lewis of Columbus, Georgia, Curly (Luella) Burks, Susie (Abolounahmaine) Sy, Bertha (Mandou) Wade of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
