Doris Jean Gibson

Mrs. Doris Jean Gibson was born July 9, 1949 to the late Mr. George and Carrie Williams in Stewart County, GA.  She departed this life of December 30, 2012 at SWGA Regional Medical Center. Doris was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church in Stewart County, GA.  She attended the Stewart County School system. She was united in holy matrimony to John Robert Gibson on August 3, 1969. She was preceded in death by a son, Darius Gibson. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband John R. Gibson, Sr. of Benevolence, GA; three sons, Szavin Gibson of Sacramento, CA, John Jr. of Radcliff, KY, Marion Gibson of Columbus, GA; one daughter, Deborah Gibson of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Mary William of Richland, GA, Cassandra (Bobby) Walker of Sorrento, FL, Alice Hawkins of Hartford, CT; two brothers, Walter William, George William, Jr. both of Richland, GA; one uncle, Johnnie (Lillie) Williams of Webster, County, GA; two aunts, Fannie Tolbert of Sorrento, FL, Ruthie Freeman of Richland, GA; eleven sisters-in-law, Marilynn Victor of Brooklyn, NY, Clemmie (Marcellus) McCluster of Apoka, FL, Shirley Gibson, Cynthia Robinson, Dianna Jones, Dorothea (Floyd) Burks all of Benevolence, GA, Priscilla (Wilson) Tolbert of Dawson, GA, Ruby Polite of Dallas, TX; three brothers-in-law, Ezzard and Melvin (Carmen) both of Cuthbert, GA, Dorrell (Sonya) of Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
