Sister Claudie Bell Shephard, the daughter of the late Mr. Ed Foreman and Estelle Knighton, was born January 23, 1920 in Randolph County, GA. She received her education in the public schools of Randolph County, GA. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses June of 1993. She ended many a sentences with "if it's Jehovah's Will". Sister Shephard was affectionately known as "Momma", "Big Ma" and "Aunt Twoont" to the majority of everyone who knew her. Her favorite past time was fishing. If anyone said "come on let's go put our hook in the water" she would say let's go and be half-way to the car with her cane poles in hand. She loved a clean house and especially a clean yard. She would either rake them or sweep them if it had no grass. If anyone wanted to know how to cook anything or needed the remedy for what ailed you, she could & would tell you what to do. She loved her family deeply and did not "sugar coat" her words. She told it to you straight. Our beloved Mother and Grandmother (Big Ma) and God-fearing servant of Jehovah exited this world on March 13, 2012 at Phoebe Putney hospital from congestive heart failure. It was sudden and she did not suffer long. Her loved ones were right there at the end. In addition, to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Hilda Bell Baldwin, her son, Ed Miller, and her son-in-law, Robert L. Singleton. Her surviving relatives are as follows: A very loving daughter, Evonne Singleton who was also her best friend (They were together for almost 50 yrs.) of Shellman, GA; a son, Willie Green of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Annie Ree Starling of Cuthbert, GA; a sister, Glazella Florida affectionately called "Dooley" of Miami, FL; grandsons-McKinley (Essie) Bradley of Dawson, GA; Arrell (Juanita) Bradley and Hubert (Sarah) Bradley both of Shellman, GA; a granddaughter- Mattie Bronner of Dawson, GA; a nephew- Ray (Ethel) Robinson of Miami, FL; niece- Estella (Homer) Harris of Dawson, GA. A host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also a loving and special care giver Sharon Price. She also talked to and about her niece Tamiko frequently. Also she consistently asked about her niece Melva (Marvin) Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL. There are so many loved ones we would have liked to mention by name, please find it in your hearts to forgive us & understand that you are loved just the same. We deeply appreciate everyone who has supported our family during this time of sorrow. Your many words of kindness, compassion, prayers and encouragement will forever be remembered.
