Dora Turner Carter

Funeral Services: Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell Grove Baptist Church Interment: Mitchell Grove Church Cemetery Repast: Mitchell Grove Church Dining Hall Dora Turner Carter was born on October  6, 1929, in Randolph County, GA. She was one of eight children born to the late Edward Turner and Gussie Rogers Turner. She grew up in the Cuthbert and Springvale communities, where she attended school.  After graduation, she attended cosmetology school.  She was an extremely well known cosmetologist in Randolph County for over fifty years. At an early age, she joined Bethel Baptist Church of Springvale, GA. On July 27, 1967, she was united in holy matrimony to Rev. James O. Carter and to this union one child was born. Dora departed this life on the evening of Sunday October 30, 2011 at her residence.  She was preceded in death by four of her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Rev. James O. Carter; one son, Dr. Vincent M. Carter of Stockdale, GA; one sister, Eloise Gilford of Cuthbert, GA; two brothers, Willie Ed Turner and Issac Turner; one sister-in-law, Bettye Smith of Cuthbert, GA and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
